Aadhava Apparels
Our cap sleeve shirts and raglan longsleeves are made from 100% organic cotton in Tiruppur, South India. Our manufacturer has been working with the GOTS standard since 2013/14 (GOTS-301860) and also uses certified organic cotton in its own production. Alongside requirements for organic cultivation, the standard also sets ecological and social criteria for textile processing.
Organic cotton
Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. Instead, natural methods such as crop rotation and organic fertilization support soil quality and the preservation of biodiversity. Fewer harmful chemicals can also support the health and livelihoods of cotton farmers and their communities.
Sun on the factory roof
Around 57% of the production at Aadhava Apparels is powered by solar energy. A 50 kW solar system saves around 21 tonnes of CO₂ per year. Surplus electricity is fed into the public grid. The yarn spinning mills also work with solar and wind energy.
Water stays in the cycle
During dyeing, water is cleaned in an in-house treatment plant and largely reused. In addition, Aadhava Apparels collects rainwater in an underground tank, reducing dependence on external water sources and securing water availability in dry periods.
Clean dyes
Our shirts are dyed exclusively with GOTS-approved, heavy-metal-free dyes that comply with REACH requirements.
Good conditions for good work
Aadhava Apparels supports not only its employees but also their families. They have access to health insurance and medical care in selected hospitals.
In addition, there is LED lighting, energy-efficient ventilation and other measures that save electricity and resources.
In short: Aadhava Apparels doesn't just make clothing. Every day, they work on making it more responsibly.
Some of the shirts are printed in India and some directly in our Munich workshop – with water-based inks and lots of handwork.
Some of our products come from Stanley/Stella. The company uses certified materials such as organic cotton and recycled fibers and works with selected partner factories in Bangladesh. GOTS
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world's leading standard for processing textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. At a high level, it defines environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain as well as the social criteria to be met. Quality assurance is provided by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. The aim of the GOTS standard is to define requirements that ensure sustainable textile production, from the harvesting of raw textile fibers through environmentally sound and socially responsible manufacturing to the labeling of the end products.
