Our black women's raglan-cut hoodie with the embroidered Lotus Girl design is made from 85% organic cotton and 15% recycled polyester. The double-layer hood is trimmed with a matching drawstring. The hoodie is finely finished and pre-washed, so it holds its shape beautifully. Cozy and snug with a soft kangaroo pocket, it's the perfect companion for cold days. The design combines an embroidered element (lotus flower) with a digital print (girl).

How the embroidery gets onto the sweater

Embroidery – from design to finished thread picture
In our workshop in Munich, our Brother Stitch PP1 embroidery machine “works its magic”, stitching cute designs onto our hoodies: an embroidery file tells the machine exactly where each individual stitch goes. We then back the fabric with a stabilizer and stretch the hoodie into an embroidery hoop so the fabric stays stable while stitching. Stitch by stitch, the machine embroiders the design onto the sweater with colorfast embroidery thread – often with several thread changes for the details. Finally, we check every hoodie by hand for clean stitching, remove any loose threads, and take off the excess stabilizer.

This gives every design a raised, tactile texture that lasts even after many washes.

Our designs wouldn't be complete without our wild, playful girl worked into the graphic.

Small, confident, adventurous and with a touch of humor, she appears in almost all of our designs. She rocks all kinds of situations – sometimes relaxing in nature, sometimes doing yoga, just dreamily hanging around, or dancing through the night. Free, creative and spontaneous, she appears in imaginative scenarios and tells little stories along the way.

The creative process

Splashing, spraying, painting: we don't set limits when creating our designs. Whether simple watercolors, ink or a toothbrush, chalk or nail polish, sponges or oil paints – we experiment with all kinds of materials for our artwork. In this phase of the creative process, the motto is "more is more". Once we've put a rich selection of ideas down on paper, it gets harder for us, because then comes the "agony of choice" and we have to decide on the best designs.
